Mercedes Buy Brawn GP

German car manufacturer and supplier to the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 team has announced it has bought the F1 Brawn F1 team, making it even more likely that we’ll see the 2009 F1 world champion Jenson Button drive alongside Lewis Hamilton as team mate.

The Brawn team will be rebranded as Mercedes GP and will feature Nico Rosberg as main driver with Nick Heidfeld as a likely team mate.

It has been widely reported for a while now that Jenson Button has been in negotiation with Brawn for a pay rise from his £3.5m salary however Mercedes have not shown an interest in keeping him in the team.

It beleived that Ross Brawn will stay on as team principal. We’ll bring you more news soon
